The extremely sharp teeth that puppies appear to have could cause you some pain.  You want to try to prevent your young dog from developing this habit of biting.  In order to stop your puppy nipping different techniques might have to be attempted.  Any tiny annoying or unacceptable habits should not receive a reward.  If you want your puppy to grown up into that wonderful family pet, you will need to take responsibility for helping him.  Dog behaviour is never “good” or “bad” it’s just behavior.  It is going to take a little time, but putting a stop to a puppies unpleasant habits should be done and just requires using these dog training tips.

The playing behaviour for a litter of puppies involves lots of nipping and biting.  Nipping and biting their new owners is extremely normal for any puppy and will most probably be the first problem they must overcome.  All new puppies partake of this behavior, but as a new member of your family actions will need to be taken to control it.

When your puppy bites you, quickly give him a pointy tap on the nose and say “NO”.  If you flick the nose daintily the little puppy is only going to think that you are messing about.  A shy correction is a meaningless correction.  One stronger tap on the muzzle, that gets the puppies attention could stop your puppy biting.  A different way to go is, right after he bites, grab his muzzle with one hand, point at him with the other, and strongly say “NO”, this will finally tell him that biting is the wrong behavior.  Your little dog may pick it up rather swiftly, or it might take a little time, just don’t forget to show some patience.  You may at last be ready to correct your puppy verbally after he understands what is happening.  This oral “NO” order is going to turn out to be terribly handy when he begins chewing on your shoes, socks, newspapers or anything more laying around for him to test his teeth on.

An alternate way of moving him away from biting you and your private items is doggy bones and gnaw toys.  When the teething stage hits he’s going to need something to munch and bite on so that the chew toys get to serve another purpose.  Whatever chews you select need to be acceptable, they will need to be ready to square up to the intense gnawing by sharp teeth for an lengthy period.  Be careful of toys that are to little or poorly made because they are able to break off into s little pieces and get trapped in their throat.

While playing with your little dog, don’t encourage him to bite and play rough or it may become a larger challenge to stop puppy biting, it’s best to elude any unacceptable behavior traits at this stage.  It is going to take some time to fix the issue regardless of what system you choose to use.  All puppies go thru certain stages in their life and puppy biting happens to be one of them.  Do not be disturbed though, you will be able to get thru the biting stage, just stay firm and patient and employ these dog training tips.
