Barking Dog Training – Stop Your Dog From Barking Now
Continuous dog barking can be one of the worse things that we have to endure. It is even worse if it’s our dog that is creating the noise. We live on top of each other and this kind of behaviour can cause neighbour disputes and even eviction in apartments if it is deemed that we are not in control of our dog.. However barking dog training is not difficult with the right equipment.
You cannot expect you dog to stop barking altogether that would be similar to asking a human being never to talk. Anyway most dog owners agree that a barking dog is a good protection and an outstanding burglar alarm.
What we as dog owners need to do is control the barking dog, training him when it’s appropriate to bark and then stop on our command. Like humans, dogs `speak` for many reasons and the majority of these are legitimate. A dog barks to communicate a message, show excitement or draw attention. Barks can be legitimate – alarm, playful, need and command all come into this category. We have a behavioural problem when barking becomes continuous.
With persistence your dog could be trained to bark on command and as a by product of this, to be quiet on command. Most of us do not have the time to do this so there are a few things which can provide immediate resolution to the barking dog problem.
1 Ultrasonic devices.
Stand alone ultrasonic devices automatically send out a high pitched sound which distracts the dog from its barking. There are several versions of these; collars, stand alone and hand held devices. Collar devices are as described, they automatically sound when the dog barks. Stand alone devices are placed either in your garden or home Your neighbour’s dog can also be quietened by a stand alone device placed in the gardenThere are handheld devices which, to deliver a correction, you simply press the button. These can be useful if you are bothered by barking dogs when out walking, jogging or bike riding.
2 Spray.
These generally come in the form of citronella no-bark collars. They provide negative feedback every time the dog barks by automatically spraying citronella which most dogs do not like.
3 Electronic devices.
In professional dog training circles electronic bark collars are considered to offer a much faster and reliable method for gaining the desired result compared with the two above. Some still believe that there is something cruel or inhumane about electronic collars. Electronic collars are now very sophisticated and much safer than when they were first introduced A mild shock is administered to the dog. The first bark of the dog is met with the first warning which is a mild shock If the dog barks again within 30 seconds the shock is intensified slightly. The shock is gradually stepped up to its 6th and final level if the dog continues to bark Safety measures built in to the collar prevent cruelty to the dog fo instance if the dog barks more than 15 times in 50 seconds then the collar shuts down for 3 minutes and resets itself.
So there you have it. It is a straightforward exercise to stop dog barking Barking dog training with one of the three methods outlined above needs no expertise to use and is usually effective immediately.
