Three Popular Dog Training Techniques
Is there a reason many dog owners are not successful when training their dogs? Yes! Many people don’t start training sufficiently early, when a dog is a puppy dog and is more receptive to training. The longer the training is left, the harder it is to coach the dog.
There are three common dog training methods that a dog owner desires to understand to make teaching obedience better.
1. – Use positive reinforcement to teach good behavior. This will tell the dog that it’s behaving correctly, the way that you need. Use treats like pieces of chicken to reward your dog when it has done a role in the correct way.
2. – Don’t confuse your dog. Be effective in the way you teach your dog by being consistent with your commands and actions. For instance if your dog toilets inside the house, act right away; punishing your dog 15 mins after the event will prove nothing. The dog has leant that going toilet within is ok…
3. – Showing your dog attention as quickly as you get home. If your dog is hyper initially, leave him alone till he relaxes down. If he jumps on you, turn your back to him and in a loud voice so “NO!” Give your dog attention when he quietens down.
I have outlined three of the common dog training strategies that you can use to effectively train your dog.
Most importantly ensure that you don’t send your dog mixed signs. It is common for owners to try this, and the dog doesn’t understand. Like giving them attention when they’re jumping all over you; This is the time that you need to be useful in your actions
Most people don’t realize that there is more to training a dog than they first realize and it’s something that has to be worked on.
